Call for Artists: Beyond The Brush

Join us for Beyond the Brush, a group exhibition featuring Midwest Marbling alongside guest artist Bob Nonnemacher.

Key Dates

  • Submission Deadline: Sunday, April 20, by 5 PM
  • Artist Notification: Friday, April 26, by 5 PM
  • Artwork Drop-off:
    • May 2 | 8–10 AM | Unity Unitarian Church (733 Portland Ave, St. Paul, MN 55104)
    • April 27 | 2–4 PM | Q.Arma Building, Studio 115 (1224 Quincy St. NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413)
    • If you are out of the area and mailing your selected artwork, please note you are responsible for the shipping and return cost of artwork. Additional information on shipping will be given if your artwork is selected.
  • Exhibition Opens: May 4
  • Marbling Demo by Sally Power and Mary Holland : May 7th 7:10-8:30pm
  • Meet the Artists Event: May 18th 10-11:30 am
  • Exhibition Closes: June 30
    • Pick up of artwork will be on June 30th time TBD

Submission Guidelines

  • Open to all Midwest Marblers members in good standing
  • Each artist may submit up to three (3) pieces
  • Open to wall and sculptural pieces
  • Submissions must be completed via the designated form
  • Submission fee of $20 paid to Midwest Marbling

Selection Process

Artwork will be juried by the Exhibition Committee and a guest artist (TBA) based on:

  • Representation of marbling techniques (both traditional & modern)
  • Strength of form and composition
  • Overall craftsmanship and technical skill

How to Submit

Application form can be found HERE 

You will need the following information

  • Title of work
  • Dimensions (Height x Width x Depth)
  • Wall hanging installation method
  • If artwork is for sale include price listing (venue has a 20% commission fee)
  • At least two images per piece will need to be uploaded.
  • One of the artwork.
  • One image must include the back hanging method or display method.
  • You can upload up to five images for each artwork submission. One image must include the back hanging method or display method.

Submission Fee

  • $22 (Submission + PayPal Fee)
